Super Eagles winger Moses Simon made his second Copa Del Rey start for Levante who defeated Spanish second division side Ramon Azeez’s CD Lugo 2-0 in their Round of 32 second leg on Thursday to advance to the Round of 16 with a 3-1 aggregate win, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Simon played for 79 minutes in the win before he was replaced for Ruben Rochina, while Azeez was an unused substitute for Lugo.
Coke broke the deadlock off a corner in the 80th minute before Raphael Dwamena sealed the win for Levante in additional time of the encounter.
The game was Simon’s sixth of the season – four in the Spanish La Liga and two in the Copa Del Rey in all competitions for Levante.
In Turkey, Emem Eduok provided an assist for Kasimpasa’s opener in their 2-1 win over second-tier, Menemen Belediyespor in Thursday’s Fifth Round first leg clash in the Turkish Cup.
Emem Eduok provided a good pass for Ozgur Cek’s opener in the 55th minute before Veysel Sari doubled the lead on the hour mark before Okan Baydemir scored a consolation for the hosts, four minutes from time.
The 24-year-old Eduok has played two games in the Turkish Cup this season. So far this season, the former Dolphins of Port Harcourt star has made 17 appearances and has scored five times.
Olanrewaju Kehinde played all 90 minutes and fired blanks in his third Turkish Cup start for Ankaragucu who lost 4-2 away to Bodrum Belediyesi Bodrumspor in the fifth round first leg clash.
Kehinde has made six substitute appearances for Ankaragucu this season totaling 33 minutes of action in the Turkish Super Lig this season.
